Very good location close to the river, castle, shopping and pubs. Easy to find and secure parking. Lively on a Friday night but quiet and comfortable upstairs. Front desk personnel and housekeepers quite friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was not included - an extra 9 euros per person. Coffee was not hot, and waitress appeared not believe me until an Irish couple complained as well. Overall the cost was too steep, especially when you add breakfast.
Friendly welcome to a very convenient location. Excellent breakfast and very good evening menu also... ....All served with a pleasant welcoming manner. We had a very satisfactory holiday experience. Go raibh míle maith agaibh ! (G & Ú CONNOLLY)
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Just about everything was within walking distance with a baby + pushchair ie: restaurants, cinema, shopping.
My wife was still breastfeeding our 5month old son and there wasn't any facilities for her to comfortably feed him (especially in the evening since the hotel pub and restaurant are one and the same). The dinner service could be more efficient (had to wait long periods for waiting staff to appear/give attention even on a quiet midweek evening).
Its old world interior look The spotless bathroom/toilet Comfortable bed Helpful/friendly staff best of all - their mini 'full irish' breakfast
it would be helpful if their web information stated that the town taxi rank is outside the front door.
The location right on the main street of Athlone could not be beat. They had free parking and we could walk everywhere. Fun places nearby and a small grocery across the street at which we bought juice and rolls for breakfasts. The staff was friendly and helpful. We found out that we didn't have to take the tour boat to Clonmanoise ... it was a pleasant short drive. The hotel was professional and yet very inviting and comfortable. Good price for the money ... we had a triple room that was spacious.
even though the accomidation can be expensive, it was worth it. we had a group of 7 and from the moment we arrived until departure it was well worth it. the staff are especially lovely and accomadating and helpful. cant wait to stay at this hotel again real soon, ive already reccomended this hotel to friends. plus athlone it a wonderful wkend break
My stay was short but I'll definitely be back. The food, the room and services were fantastic. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful I have encountered in any hotel.
Convenient location, late breakfast and comfortable room
The lobby, the rooms and the spacious hotel with good food at a reasonable rate.
Ease of parking, cleanliness of rooms, accessable in house dining at reasonable cost.
Decor and carpets, hotel furnishings tired! - in need of a revamp.
There was a good selection at the breakfast, and the location of the hotel was very central.
Rooms not soundproof, a drunk person was out on the corridor and woke us up at 5am. Everything could be heard very clearly eventhough he wasn't doing anything particularly loudly. Noise from the wooden floors outside the room was very loud.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was always very good though some things were over priced (eg steak sandwich at 13 euros). Enjoyed stay at Prince of Wales and would definitely use again.
I found the staff very helpful. It is a nice clean, warm and comfortable hotel. It is very reasonable as regards food and accommodation. I would recommend it to travellers or people wishing to take a weekend break away from a busy schedule.
the bar is nice nice water fall in the lobby friendly staf beautiful rooms
the only thing that turn me off when I was in my bath I looked at the toilet and I seen A lot of black dirt in the inner top side of toilet had to close the lid other than that all is good
Lovely hotel very central and near all Amenities.
